Using FTP, you can easily access and alter your server files quickly. You can use an FTP client such as Filezilla or WinSCP to fulfil this action. Filezilla and WinSCP are programs that allow you to edit your server files as if the files were on your PC.

| Step 1. Installing an FTP program:

Firstly, you need an FTP program to connect with. We recommend Filezilla or WinSCP as they have the best features.

When downloading make sure you install the Client version, not the server version. Additionally, when installing them, ensure to decline any special offers or sponsored software.

| Step 2. Obtaining your FTP details:

Before you can start using your FTP client, it needs to know where to find your server files. To get your server's FTP details simply follow these steps:

Log-in to your Multicraft account.
Go to the 'Servers' tab and select the server you wish to access.
On the left-hand side select 'FTP File Access':

If you use Filezilla you can go straight to Step 4.

What are Dedicated IPs

A dedicated IP means you have the port 25565 meaning that when users join your server they do not need to add the port at the end. They just have to connect with 123.123.123.123 rather than 123.123.123.123:25585, for example.

When connecting your server to a domain (removes the need for buggy SRV records);
When you want users to be able to join without the port.

- If you haven't purchased the server yet, you can get one by selecting the option for a "Dedicated IP" at checkout;
If you have purchased the server already, open a billing ticket requesting one.

How to connect a domain to your server

How to connect your server to a domain:

Before we start you will need a domain. You can purchase a domain from registrars such as Namecheap or GoDaddy.

Visit your domain provider and locate the "Advanced DNS Zone". It may be called "DNS Zone" or "Advanced DNS", or anything similar.

Add an A record:

> Set the name/subdomain to the subdomain you wish to use (e.g. play or mc), or `@` if you don't want to use a subdomain
> Set the value/IP Address to your server IP (excluding the port)

If your server has a Dedicated IP (has the port 25565) you can stop here.

Add an SRV Record:

|| Note: The following steps are NOT RECOMMENDED. It is recommended to purchase a Dedicated IP for only $3/month. SRV records are buggy and some registrars don't support them.

> Set the target as the sub-domain you used above, including the main domain (e.g. `play.example.com` or `mc.example.com`), or to the main domain if you don't want to use a sub-domain (e.g. `example.com`)
> Set the name to the sub-domain you used, for example `play` or `mc`, or `@` if you don't want to use a sub-domain.
> Set the protocol to '_tcp'
> Set the service to '_minecraft'
> Set the priority to 5
> Set the weight to 0

Example SRV Record DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to update, but most popular registrars update them instantly.

What are Preinstalls and how do they work?

This article should explain what the PebbleHost Preinstalls are and how they work so that you understand how to use them correctly.

Utility Scripts

The utility scripts allow you to quickly perform actions on your server such as checking what's using your server's storage, or removing all Dynmap files. The full list can be found on the panel if you click the Utilities dropdown.

These are available for all servers, all you need to do is restart the server for this to apply.

Modpack Preinstalls

The Preinstalls are modpacks or server versions that can be easily installed with a few clicks. The full list can be found on the panel if you click the Preinstalls dropdown.

If you are on a Premium Service then you get full access to these and can use them whenever you want.

If you are not on a Premium service then you can get the Modpack install add-on available here https://billing.pebblehost.com/cart.php?gid=addons and then open a ticket on our billing panel to request the install

Please also note that if a PreInstall for a modpack isn't listed but you still want it installed, you can get the add-on and open a ticket with us on our Billing Panel and provide a link. As long as the modpack has a server download, we will be able to install it for you.

How to add sub-users to your server and Multicraft role permissions

| This guide will explain how to add and edit subusers and explain their permissions for our Multicraft Control Panel.

Ask the user to register on https://mc.pebblehost.com/site/register Navigate to the server you wish to add them on On the left-hand side click 'Sub-Users'

Enter the user's username into the empty box (if they bought their own server or had an account when we used Pterodactyl then their username is their email) Set the user's Role and FTP Access as explained below.

| Multicraft roles and their permissions:

Guest: Can see basic server information, online status and player count
User: Can use the chat box and view custom server commands
Moderator: Can use the "say" command, view the server console, use some commands (/summon, /kick, /tp, /give)
Super Moderator: Can use all server commands, start/stop the server. Has full access to FTP
Administrator: Has full server access, can give others FTP access, manage players
Co-Owner: Can give other users any of the above Multicraft roles
Owner: The owner of the server

|| Note: You can explicitly give users a role and give them FTP access even if the role doesn't have it.

Vanilla Minecraft

Vanilla Minecraft is the version of Minecraft without any modifications or changes, this is the version of Minecraft as intended by Mojang, These options allow you to run a Multiplayer server running the base version of the game.

Vanilla versions are un-altered and don't allow for any modification or changes.

CraftBukkit

CraftBukkit runs what is known as the Bukkit API which adds support to the game for Multiplayer and plugins. This is currently maintained and supported by the developers of Spigot who use the Bukkit API and add there own Spigot API to the server.

All Bukkit Plugins should run on Spigot servers as they both utilize the same API, however, Spigot plugins will not run on Bukkit Servers.
